So we got the Pygmy Coho kit (pygmyboats.com) June 2, 2008, and started phase 1 later that week. We spent a good few days prepping the teensy-tiny garage... The 17.5 foot boat will just barely fit diagonally in there (see pics)!
So far, all but 1 of the planks has been assembled (for some reason we were short about 6" of fiberglass tape to finish the last one), but we just got the extra tape. My folks are in town this week, so we haven't made any progress. However, sadly, one plank had a bubble in the fiberglass. We were doing so well! So I cut that part out, and will fill it in with another similarly shaped piece of tape and epoxy that, so hopefully it won't be too big an eyesore (the picture is a pic of another part of the plank where you can see the fiberglass; supposedly it's ok...). We plan to drill up the planks and start forming the hull this weekend, so over July 4th we can get through fiberglassing the hull...
