Day 13

Last night, Daniel took us upstairs to show us the flooring after sanding, and that he's been removing the new wood and using old... Unfortunately, he should have shown us the sanded floors first! The new vs old is not much of a difference, and I feel really bad for him taking the time to rip out the old stuff when he didn't have to. :( At least we told him he didn't have to rip out the rest.

Another thing is that he's had to rip out a few more planks - after sanding, he hit some nails. That means apparently that these floors have been sanded down quite a bit, and the top layer is pretty thin. This is likely the last sanding that can be done on these floors before they need to just be replaced.

An interesting note, though, during demo of some of these old planks, they found something dating these planks to 1936!! This attic area has been around since then! Crazy. The house was built in 1927, and within 10 years, they expanded to the attic. We thought the attic area was planked out and such in the 50's or 60's. The things you learn....

Ok, so now onto color choices:
Here is the green in the smaller room - we actually like this, and it's a muted green (as opposed to the neon green before). I think we're sticking with this one.

In the big room (the media room), it's this blue/gray color. I like it, but I'm not sure if when spread over all walls it'll be too much blue... This is where I need some advice. Should I look for a grayer tone for this room?

Here it is with daylight:
