Day 14 - Flooring Fun!

Ah, early Saturday mornings... I totally live for these!!!

Not really. There was a lot of sarcasm in that.

However, I will take this for the team, and since we kinda put this upon ourselves. :) So dude shows up at 8:35am and gets to work. Lots of noise and sanding. Mark runs out to EcoHaus to pick up another paint option (it's called "pewter" and I'll post pics later). Around 2:30, he leaves... We are confused, as we know things aren't done and it needs to be done by Monday... He says he has to go to another job, and we're like, when will you return? Tomorrow? He says, no, Monday. Hmmm...

So we call Chris, who will talk to Daniel. We take this break during the day and head out to Lowes to get a crapload of paint supplies. Chris calls us while we're there and tells us Daniel and his dad will be coming by to finish up, and tomorrow, too, to do 2 coats of Swedish finish. So we rush out of Lowes to get back to the house before he arrives. They show up around 5:30... Not sure how long they'll be here. There's a lot more to do before they can apply finish, but there's 2 of them now, so it'll probably go somewhat faster. They have 3 stairs to do, a lot of sanding, and the filler compound stuff.  I feel sorry for them having to work so late, and us having to deal with it. :) But that's home renovation! I'm really glad that they're working the extra time to maintain the schedule. And I'm really glad we hired Chris, because I'm pretty sure if we hired all the people ourselves, we wouldn't be treated so well. I'm sure they're doing everything they can to keep Chris happy so he keeps using them for all his jobs. I know I would!

I can't get up there now to take pics, but will this evening once they leave. Get some "pre-finish" pictures of the floors, and the new paint. It's more gray and I think it'll work a lot better in that room.
