This morning started around 8:15am, with the drywall mudder coming. He gets to work, knows what he has to do. Chris shows up a couple hours later, and agrees that the birdblocking is shoddy. I also show him the questionable piece of insulation... Then leave him and the drywall dude to fix it. :)
The electrician for the a/c unit comes by, does his magic, and the a/c installer comes back to confirm it working properly and everything. Shows me how to run it (we have the fancy new touchscreen thermostat, afterall), and I pay them, and they head out.
The mudder leaves just about at that point, also.
So now it's quiet... And I can just do whatever now. :) YAY! Can't wait for this all to be done....
Here is the former closet area in the big room (to be the media room). This nook will house the TV and stuff. The mudder had to fill in the area on the left 'cause it wasn't even. He did a pretty good job hiding the fact that the house isn't 100% level... :)
Here's the electrical for the a/c unit. There's another box on the deck that leads into the unit. This will all get covered in paint when we repaint the house... Thankfully this is on the side of the house that doesn't really get seen. This side also houses the trash cans and such, so it's OK if it's not super pretty.
The drywall guy is also patching the holes in the laundry room ceiling!! YAY! Otherwise this would just be exposed. So yeah, it's better that he's patching it. The texture won't really match, but hey, it's better than exposed studs and wiring, eh?
The next few days are going to be pretty quiet. It'll be just drywall work - the taping/mudding/everything. Drywall is always a 5 day process, it seems. Dude will be coming on Saturday, but not on Sunday. So one day will be a sleep-in day!
We have to go get tile for the bathroom (we're going with a hex tile), get a sink, get some paint, and I think that's it for now.
