Days 18-19

It's been a pretty laid-back week. Focus has been painting and staining walls.

This picture is half old paint, half stripped. After stripping all the old finish off of the planks, they sanded it down, and started applying a new stain. We went with really dark, for that contrast with the honey colored floors.

Here is the stain vs. unstained. After this, they'll put a sealer coat on and then the varnish.

The doors also were done. The walls will look like these when finished.

Random side note, while working, I look out at the bird feeder and find this awesome looking bird! It's apparently a "Northern Flicker" which is a type of woodpecker. This one stayed perched on the feeder for a good 20 minutes before flying away. Very pretty!
