On Friday, Robert and Sean finished up the painting work upstairs. They stained the handrail and trim, but will come back Monday to put the shiny coat on. They sprayed the shiny coat on the upstairs vs. brushing it on the doors - after drying, we noticed that the hallway area was still very matte. Robert said he will fix it, along with a drip mark that you can see near the top of hallway. Otherwise, things look really great - once these couple things are done, it'll be awesome.
Even though we had Robert paint the rooms for us, it was still up to us to get the trim painted. So that was the effort for the weekend... OMG, there was so much trim (each stack in the picture was, I think, 3 planks)... And a door... And a mini-door (not pictured)... We painted until 7pm Sunday night. About half way through, I finally figured out a system to get the rest done in a more timely manner. And less streaky. But whatever, it should still look fine. We'll no doubt have to do some touch up once it's installed, but at least pre-painting it saves a lot of work down the road.
Here is everything we painted. See? It's a lot. Go us! My arm's a little sore.
