The basement (master bedroom suite) has also been on the list for a mini renovation. Basically, we want to replace the crappy carpeting with solid flooring (we chose engineered bamboo) and to fill out the "spare" side room as a master walk-in closet. And make the small closet a linen closet.
The rip-out of the carpet started Tuesday, 9/13/11. The floor was VERY unlevel, so there was a lot of leveling compound put down.
Then the whole slab was covered in a pretty, hot pink/red sealant.
Today (9/20) begins the actual floor install!! I'm pretty excited to get this done, as we are living in the guest room. And all our stuff is in the living room. It's quite cramped... And the cats are driving us NUTS - every morning, meow meow jumponthebed pounceonbladders meow meow... :)
